Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電機工程學系 === 102 === We quantitatively studied the influence of the separation between fluorophores and a thin gold film on the fluorescence intensity in a multilayered system. The separation between the fluorophore layer and the gold layer is controlled by alternatively deposition of polymer layers with opposite charges. When the separation is below 10 nm, the fluorescence is largely quenched. At certain conditions, the fluorescence is enhanced for more than one order of magnitude. The optimum condition for fluorescence enhancement is discussed.
The thickness of the gold thin film also plays an important role in the filed enhancement. The optimum gold thickness for fluorescence enhancement is 30 nm. The gold surface roughness is investigated by AFM to be below 1 nm. According to the practical measurements in two fluorophores with different thickness of gold thin film, the results, the results show that they have to same tendency.
