Currently, “The Maintenance, Culture, and Educational Foundation of Li Family Abode in Lu Zhou” is founded and managed by the Li family. The foundation organizes folk arts activities in Lu Zhou area to raise the coherence and sense of community among Lu Zhou residents. The foundation also sets up a “You-bang Lee Memorial Museum” aiming to connect local residences with the tourists to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining culture property. Historical sites often encounter obstacles and difficulties during its operation. This research study thereby aimed to investigate how to adopt, to keep the historical site alive as time changes, and to highlight the significance of historical buildings. This research study firstly collected multiple cases of “preservation” and “community revitalization” of historical sites in Taiwan, and analyzed the issues and blind spots that many historical sites faced during their operation. Secondly, this research study described the operation model of Li Family Abode in Lu Zhou and analyzed its current status of operation. Research findings indicated that most visitors came to Li Family Abode in Lu Zhou to participate in the “drawing lots (Zua Zou)” and “no drooling (Shou Xian)” cultural ceremonies. The researcher interviewed the manager of the Li Family Abode as well as the decedents of the Li family to document how they kept the place in operation by developing creative products, setting up clear management strategies, devising improvement plans, and finding various ways to preserve and revitalize the place. This case study also documented the difficulties the Li family faced during the process, and discussed the foundation’s future goals of preservation, revitalization of the buildings, and strengthening connections with the local communities. This research study also surveyed the visitors to understand the satisfactory level of their visits. Based on the visitors’ input, the researcher developed an operation model for sustainable management hoping that the model can benefit Li Family Abode in its future management and revitalization of this historical site. 吳介祥 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 142 zh-TW
