The researcher interviewed the manager of the Li Family Abode as well as the decedents of the Li family to document how they kept the place in operation by developing creative products, setting up clear management strategies, devising improvement plans, and finding various ways to preserve and revitalize the place. This case study also documented the difficulties the Li family faced during the process, and discussed the foundation’s future goals of preservation, revitalization of the buildings, and strengthening connections with the local communities. This research study also surveyed the visitors to understand the satisfactory level of their visits. Based on the visitors’ input, the researcher developed an operation model for sustainable management hoping that the model can benefit Li Family Abode in its future management and revitalization of this historical site.
