Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 運動保健學系碩士班 === 102 === Objective: In order to understand the feasibility of YO-YO IR2 (Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test) test in assessing aerobic capacity of basketball players, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation between YO-YO IR2 intermittent maximal exercise test. The variables measured maximum oxygen uptake and maximum heart rate includes. Methods: Participants were twenty healthy male basketball players, no lower extremity injuries or symptoms which can influence the test in the past six months. Participants were tested by intermittent maximal exercise test in the laboratory and YO-YO IR2 test on basketball field separated by 2-7 days. Metabolic cart and EKG were used during maximal exercise test, and polar heart rate monitor was used during YO-YO IR2. All data was averaged every 10 seconds, and the average in one minute was used for statistical analysis. Descriptive statistics was used for subjects and physiological characteristics and parameters, Pearson product-moment correlation was used to examine the correlation between the YO-YO IR2 and maximal intermittent exercise test. Paired t-test was used to identify the difference between two test. Results:Correlations between YO-YO IR2 and intermittent maximal exercise test were significant for maximal oxygen uptake (r = .51, p < .05) and maximal heart rate (r = .52, p < .05).and But there was significant difference ( p < .05) between two tests, too. Conclusion: There are moderate Correlations between YO-YO IR2 and intermittent maximal exercise test for maximal oxygen uptake and maximal heart rate. It is feasible for coach to use YO-YO IR2 in assessing aerobic capacity of basketball player, although there is possibility of under-estimation.
