To improve wireless signal strength of LTE base stations (Evolved NodeB, eNB) at the edge area and increase the wireless coverage, 3GPP proposed LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) to adopt a low-power, low-cost relay node (Relay Node, RN) to enhance the user equipment (User Equipment, UE) connection quality at the edges of eNB wireless service area. Furthermore, the RN can be adopted at vehicles (e.g. high speed rail, HSR). The RN might have some mobility features, so RN renamed MRN (Mobile RN) under this mobile environment. This thesis assumes MRN has Multiple Radio Access Technologies (Multi-RAT) functionality, The Multi-RAT MRN should provide not only LTE UE wireless services but also UMTS UE wireless connections. Four novel architectures (Alt_M1, Alt_M2, Alt_M3, Alt_M4) are presented in this thesis. The Qualitative and Quantitative analyses show the advantages and disadvantages about our proposed architectures. Chun-Chuan Yang 楊峻權 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 89 zh-TW
