Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 教育研究所 === 102 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of digital storybook teaching on junior high school students’ on concentration, creative thinking skills and English reading comprehension. A pretest, posttest and delayed posttest quasi-experimental design were used for this study. The participants were 54 seventh-grade students in two classes. The independent variable was the instructional strategy including two groups: traditional instruction (control group) and digital storybook teaching (experimental group). This experiment was conducted for 14 weeks. The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA and MANCOVA to evaluate any differences among total and sub-scale scores for the two research groups on the dependent variables after they receive different methods of instructional strategy. In addition, interviews were conducted to know students’ perspectives on digital storybook teaching after the study. The results of this study indicate that digital storybook teaching participants performed significantly better than traditional instruction participants in terms of concentration, creative thinking skills and English reading comprehension. Future research in digital storybook teaching may include the effect of digital storytelling or electronic book making upon creative thinking and discuss the relationship between learning styles and the selection of digital storybooks.
