| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 102 === Taiwan is a small island, and around 70% of its land area is mountains and hills. Given that most mountains and hill are located in the eastern part of Taiwan, over 70% of Taiwanese people live in the west, where the plains are located. The lack of useable land and high population density caused the development of tall buildings. The trend also influenced the design of school buildings; some of school buildings built from 80’s onwards are designed in the layout of enclosed patio. With this architecture form and the use of reflective interior materials such as paint and tiles, the sounds caused by the teaching activities in the campus may affect the quality of sound environment around the campus.This study is to research the architecture form, interior material, utilizing condition and quality of sound environment of the enclosed patio and aims to find appropriate layout of enclosed patio for school buildings.
