Most designers design for the lighting structure and the optical design according to their personal experience. The development of design within the lighting industry evolves almost daily, so that developing a new product has been become rather complex. Designers face difficult scenarios in order to complete their designs. The product development process from start to finish is getting shorter. Designers do not have time to adjust products or continually test them, so this means designers have to design precisely.
This kind of traditional industry has a high labor turnover rate. The most important issue is keeping the professional knowledge and skills of senior designers, in order to enhance the operational efficiency and reduce development cost , the expert system (Expert System, ES) is a simple and practical system.
Through Market Research Data Collection and the experts’ experience establish T-BAR T5 office lighting design parameters (number of lamps, lighting body width, the length of the light, the number of decorative panels, grid plate design), rules and database. The Jess (Java expert system shell) and the Eclipse are wed to establish the expert system, This system will not only provide expert knowledge and experiences rapidly but also shorten design time for new staff as educational training.
