Some researches manifest the natural environment having a certain effect to release human’s press, thus, this study is to explore the course of stress relief when the primary caretakers who look after children with developmental delay in a natural environment, including the relaxing characteristic and relaxed environmental element. We select parents of the children who lived in Maria Social Welfare Foundation (Taichung City) as an object of study, and adopt the purposive sampling method to interview our object who has experienced in natural environment and desires to release their presses in such an environment. We also hold some activities with them to explore the relaxing course in natural environment while the interviewees’ description and experience is analyzed through the Atlas.ti (software) to clarify and compose their psychological relaxing courses. In terms of research findings, we discover that interviewees’ characters in a common environment will emerge with the conceptions of “Open environment”, “Locating in a high ground”, and “Void of exterior interference” according to their expounding the relaxing effect; as to their common characteristics in psychological perception, it appears with the “Transient freedom”, “Departing from realistic oppression”, “Laying down daily pressure”, “Introspection and contemplation”, “Arousing joyful moods”. In the environmental characteristic, it arises of the “Far distant from environment”, “Environmental tractility”, “Environmental charisma”, and “Environmental compatibility”. In the part of preferred environment, it shows the “Environmental complexity”, “Environmental mystery”, “Environmental consistence”, and “Environmental readability”. In terms of environmental element, it reveals the conceptions of “Water element”, “Landforms”, “Planting”, and “Environmental microclimate” that means the environmental trait, preference, and element creating diverse and positive influences onto interviewee’s psychology in the process of releasing pressure. Moreover, we also find that in the environmental safety the concepts of “Isolating extrinsic jeopardy”, “Perceptive safety”, and “Producing familiarity”, together with the “Social interaction” and “Crowded sense” will affect interviewee’s environmental relaxing perception and effect. Integrating the analyzed results abovementioned, we use the S-O-R Mode to induce the pressure-relieving structure; Phase 1. Environmental stimulation belongs to the substantial environment stimulus. Phase 2. It is the personal cognition onto environment, the cognition influenced by environment and produced by others’ interaction, and the perception of emotional relaxation. Phase 3. The response is to extend the individual mood, or to manifest a reactive behavior. From the inducing process, we find that the interviewee’s pressure can be relieved through the three stages’ influence. In accordance with analyzing result of the pressure-relieving tract when the primary caretakers take care of the child with developmental delay, we may not only realize their pressure, perception, and relieving course, but also provide the expertise for relevant institutes to help children in terms of environmental design and activities, to obtain the relaxation in pressure through the experience of natural environment, so as to face the physical and psychological problem and challenge during the growing process of the child with developmental delay.
