The subjects in this study are 83 third-grade vocational students. They are pre-tested in paper tests to obtain their proficiency levels in both mathematics and professional courses. Based on the result, they are given courses in which teaching activities are mainly designed following cooperative learning approach. Then, the subjected are given a post-test. According to the comparison of the results between the pre-test and post-test, representative subjects undergo semi-structured interviews. In this study, the learning outcomes of vocational students in mathematics and professional courses are analyzed and then cooperative teaching activities are designed accordingly. According to the statistics analysis of the data gathered, the findings are as follow: First, the more the students understand the fundamental mathematical concepts, the more they can apply them into their professional courses. Moreover, they can further apply those concepts in solving problems in real life. Thus, they change their original conception that mathematics is boring and useless. Second, through cooperative teaching activities, students are motivated to learn with their peers. In both mathematics and professional courses, students change their learning approach from passively receiving knowledge to actively solving problems, consulting their classmates, and sharing and exchanging ideas with their classmates. In conclusion, cooperative learning model has a positive influence on students’ learning outcomes. Lin-Tsang Lee 李林滄 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 99 zh-TW
