After the brief model descriptions of the wind power turbine, power generation system and digital control system, the proposed IT2 fuzzy PI-like MPPT controller for the wind energy boost system is first designed by combining the DC-DC boost converter. Furthermore, the proposed IT2 fuzzy PI-like MPPT controller for the wind energy buck system is then synthesized using the DC-DC buck converter. The asymptotical stabilities of both proposed controllers are investigated in detail. The effectiveness and merits of the proposed MPPT controllers are exemplified by conducting several simulations via Matlab/Simulink; the proposed controller is shown superior by comparing to a conventional PI MPPT controller and a PI-like type-1 fuzzy MPPT controller.
