Integrated circuits of power electronics will be smaller, faster and having lower power consumption. In the power electronics systems, gate drivers receive signals from processors and drive power transistors, like power MOSFETs or IGBTs, which as switches in the circuits. To communicate processors’ signals to power electronics circuit, gate drivers must have ability to receive low-power signals and output high-power signals. Gate drivers need to communicate signals reliably. Besides, the circuits’ power consumption is important. The proposed gate driver uses technics of non-overlapping control and charge recycle. Together with input/output terminals’ DC isolation circuit, the circuit drove the power MOSFETs by control signal successfully. The proposed gate driver was designed by TSMC 0.25μm High-Voltage CMOS process, and attached by a capacitor, an inductor and diodes. The circuit’s area is 1.35mm2. When the operating voltage is 12V or 15V, the input signal is 0V-3V or 0V-5V, and the signal frequency is 20 kHz, the circuit can drive 4200pF capacitive load. This gate driver can be used in automotive electronic equipment, Converter, and audio electronic equipment, which have threshold voltage 12V-15V power MOSFETs or IGBTs. The charge recycle circuits can save the charges when the load capacitor discharges, and reuse these charges again. The charge recycle circuit uses LC resonance to transmit the charges, and save the power consumption about 70%. When the operating voltage is or 15V, the signal frequency is 20 kHz, and the load capacitor is 4200pF, the circuit’s power consumption is 7.4mW. The DC isolation circuit can communicate signals between two circuits, which have different ground. The circuit uses high-voltage devices in TSMC 0.25μm High-Voltage CMOS process to be transmission media. When two circuit grounds’ difference inside 60V, the DC isolation circuit can work successfully.
