Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資訊科學與工程學系 === 102 === The data center network (DCN) uses switches of high performance to transmit messages rapidly so it owns the characters of low latency and high bandwidth. DCN supports a large number of distributed services to
satisfy the different requests of users. Unfortunately, due to the cost limit, the buffer size of switches cannot support a large of number packets (i.e.,many to one transmission), and it results in throughput collapse. It is called TCP Incast [2].
In this thesis, a cross-layer flow schedule (CLFS) is proposed, which combines application layer with network layer for avoiding TCP Incast problem. In application layer, CLFS observes the operations of TCP to
collect the transmission time of the packets and improves throughput by transmitting numerous TCP flows simultaneously and deadline requests.
In addition, CLFS uses multiple data rates to transmit packets in network layer to save power consumption. Our CLFS does not require extra hardware support. The experiment results show that CLFS obtains higher
throughput, conforms strict time requirements for real-time multimedia applications as well as saves power consumption in local network and Fat-tree topology.
