Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 機械工程學系所 === 102 === The optical properties of optical glass such as light refraction, reflection, penetration and absorption can be applied in panels, lamps, lenses, and consumer products. This study investigates the fabrication of anti-glare glass using chemical etching process. The anti-glare glass can filter light source to avoid the eyes glare effect using the function of random reflection. In this work, the soda lime glass with a thickness of 0.7 mm is adopted. The first uses a vertical immersion with hydrofluoric acid to generate salts crystallization on the glass, and to form the roughened surface on the glass. The second process polishes the rough surface of the glass. The chemical polishing process is used to the glass, and it needs to control etching time and to observe the glass surface contour changes. Then, the gloss, haze and optical numerical parameters of all-optical transmittance for the anti-glare glass are measured. A gloss meter and a haze meter are employed to measure the optical properties of the anti-glare glass. The measured results show that the glass has a gloss of 14.8-126 GU, a haze of 2.5-68.6 %, and a light transmittance of over 90 %. The anti-glare glass achieves the industry specification.
