On the other hand, as a result of rapid industrial and commercial development, the industrial and commercial land remains inadequate for its need, leading to the industrial zone sitting side by side with the residential area, and that some educational and medical facilities locate extremely close to industrial zones. The problem is now no longer negligible. How to expand regional development but maintain the quality of living at the same time should be an important issue in regard to the field of environment protection and economic development in the future. The research aims at Taichung Industrial Park. In order to achieve a better understanding of the level of odor episode, the research collects documents and reports about the investigation of odor pollution in Taichung Industrial Park. Also, the report goes through test reports, lists of materials used in the factory and odor threshold, along with component analysis, to detect pollution sources and pollution characteristics. The main pollutants emitted from Taichung Industrial Park are Methanol, Toluene,Dimethylformamide, Methyl ethy ketone, Acetone, Ethyl Acetate, Isopropanol, Ethanol, Cyclohexane, Ammonia, Chlorodifluoromethane, Dichlorodifluoromethane and PVC, etc. Pollutants that are over odor threshold are mainly as follows: Ethyl Acetate, Dimethylformamide, Toluene and Methyl ethy ketone. The pollutants mentioned above are widely used among different industries in Taichung Industrial Park. It reveals that odor pollution consists of various pollutants and that it is a result of the interaction between them. A high correlation exists in odor pollutant characteristics and the materials the factories use. The research is dedicated to analyze the odor pollution sources emitted from Taichung Industrial Park and therefore put forward available regulations for the purpose of reducing complaints about the odor pollution, reducing the amount of VOCs pollutant, and might as well apply the regulations to other industrial zones in the future. 盧重興 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 71 zh-TW
