Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國家政策與公共事務研究所 === 102 === The 2012 Presidential and Legislative Yuan Elections were held on January 14th. This is the first time that Taiwan organized elections of the central executive and legislative department on the same day. Likewise, for electors, they had opportunities to make decisions for the duties at the central level. Consequently, in this thesis, taking the 2012 Presidential and Legislative Yuan Elections as the research object to explore relevant issues about Taiwan''s electors'' split-ticket voting and straight-ticket voting from the elections at the central level. To understand electors'' behavior of split-ticket voting, all kinds of patterns and influential factors of straight-ticket and split-ticket that electors vote must be concerned. Regarding the causes of split-ticket voting, academic circles classify it into two types, intentional factor and unintentional factor. The difference between them lies in whether electors'' split-ticket voting is a conscious behavior or not. The thesis tried to study Presidential and Legislative Yuan elections in 2012 for the research object, in order to use Taiwan''s Election and Democratization Study database,(2012 Presidential and Legislative Elections interviewed case)to analyze the influential factors of intentional factor and unintentional factor, which have impacts on elections in 2012.Via the Statistical tools of cross-tabulation and binary logistic regression model. The findings indicate that Political Party factors and Candidate factors, based on unintentional factor, are the main influential factors of the split-ticket voting at this time. On the other hand, according to the intentional factor, although checks and balances have partial impacts, apparently it is not the major cause of elector''s split-ticket voting.
