Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 102 === The main purpose of this study is to analyze the development of US-ROK alliance in the Lee Myung-bak Era. Lee Myung-bak's policy-making was affected by domestic concerns about North Korea's threat, domestic economic development, the USFK issues and other factors. It was also influenced by external factors such as the United States to return to Asia, North Korea's military threat, Japan's pursuit for "normalized status", and China's rise. This thesis examines US-ROK 2 +2 meetings, the "Declaration of ROK-US Alliance Cooperation and Defense Cooperation Policy Outlook", the delay of wartime command handover, and the ROK-US joint military exercises. Furthermore, it explores the impacts of these policies on ROK's domestic politics, ROK-US alliance cooperation, and Northeast Asia's secuirty situations.
