Summary:碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 科技管理與智慧財產研究所 === 102 === The study aims to investigate the question about how traditional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would respond to rapidly developing ICT and networking technologies, such as internet of things (IoT). A framework including three major dimensions: leadership behavior, intellectual property management and strategy, R&;D strategy is adopted for this research. Additionally, an in-depth case study approach is utilized. Several conclusions, obtained from this investigation, are as follows: Conclusion 1: All three critical factors together: leadership behavior, intellectual property management and strategy, and R&;D strategies, determine the results of the traditional SMEs’ transformation into high-tech areas. Conclusion 2:The traditional SMEs are expected to make good use of their advantages in both of capabilities and networks in order to enhance their transformation into high-tech areas. Conclusion 3:The traditional SMEs are expected to break the organizational and geographical boundaries for cross-border cooperation in order to enhance their transformation into high-tech areas. Finally, this study draws some recommendations for the traditional SMEs with intention of moving into high-tech areas, the case company and the researchers for subsequent studies.
