In total, the city covers about 104 km2 in area. The terrain height is gradually sloped downward from southeast to northwest direction that formed to a natural drainage system for the city. Due to Hsinchu City is located at the edge of northwest side of the hills, the upstream water from the mountains can fast reach to the city plain. This plain originally is formed from the alluvial action which can be found from various rivers and their drainage routes. However, the plain often flooded because of the narrow cross-section through their water ways. In order to maintain the normal functions of water drainage system and prevent plain flooding, the city government conducts safety inspection on the hydraulic structures on the drainage system in a yearly basis. The inspection method used includes visual inspection and equipment inspection to determine the condition of structures, facilities, foundations and other related objects. By using these inspections, it is intended to find the damaged portion of the structural facilities in the early stage and to ensure the safety of the hydraulic structures. This study is concentrated on the hydraulic structures governed by the region of Hsinchu City by using the standard safety inspection procedures. The collected information used in this study is based on the investigation results conducted by the city in the year of 101. These results are studied and compared to determine which portion of the structures needs reconstruct, repair, or just maintain as usual schedule. In addition, the investigation includes the use of GIS and Cloud-Edge technology to improve the efficiency of the inspection works. A total of 25 water drainage routes is studied herein for the year of 101. It is found that only 10% of the inspected structures needs to be immediately improvement, 30% of the inspected structures need to be noted improvement, and 60% of the inspected structures need to be projected improvement. It is also shown that, based on this study, the government project management and budget arrangement is under a reasonable and acceptable condition. 陳鴻輝 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 247 zh-TW
