碩士 === 美和科技大學 === 企業管理系經營管理碩士班 === 102 === The textile and garment industry is central to Vietnam’s transition from a centrally planned to a market economy, from an economic system built predominantly around the state enterprises to one which treats all enterprises equally regardless of ownership. This industry is also a critical element in the country’s export drive, and more generally its effort to integrate itself into the international economy. With such crucial roles, it is worth considering how to improve the activities of this sector. There are a number of studies concerning this field, however, they focus much on the export activities or how to increase competition ability of these companies rather than how the general understanding of the operations as a whole from the starting point to the end or in other words, on the supply chain. This motivates the researcher to carry out this research to understand what factors affect the supply chain management of some textile companies with the aim of pointing out the solutions to improve their activities, to some extent. The study reviews some literature related to supply chain and supply chain management, after which the framework of factors affecting supply chain management was pointed out. The research methodology was also mentioned based on the aforementioned framework, from which a questionnaire was formed. The analysis of the data was conducted after it was collected. The result shows that there are seven factors which affect supply chain management. In detail, the instability in overseas market affects the import of materials; changes in policy, certain law and regulations affect the enterprises’ effectiveness in managing their supply chain; logistics is the base to boost the activities of all members in the process, more importantly, importing input materials brings about some risks; thanks to the advanced information technology, operations and cooperation in the SC are much improved; the relationships with customers and distributors also bring about high productivity; management affects the flow of products in the SC. Subsequently, recommendations for textile companies, government, and further study are included.
