碩士 === 康寧大學 === 休閒管理研究所 === 102 === This study aimed to investigate the effects of leisure activities participation and satisfaction of retired teachers in Eastern District, Tainan City. It adopted questionnaire survey method. The participants were the retired teachers who were over 50 years old and lived in in Eastern District of Tainan City. The instrument of the study was designed by the researcher. 435 copies of questionnaire were issued and the valid questionnaires were 316 copies (162 copies for men and 154 copies for women) which accounts for 73% of respond rate. The statistic tools of SPSS ver.12.0 including descriptive analysis, independent-samples t-Test and canonical analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The results were summarized as follows, 1.The frequency of taking part in leisure activities was about 4-5 times per week. Most of them took 30-60 minutes each time. The percentage of men was higher than the percentage of women. 2.Both male and female retired teachers took schools or public stadiums as the first choice. 3.For getting information of leisure activity, the sources arranged by degree were from friends, from TV or radio and from the Internet. 4.The styles of taking leisure activity arranged by degree were in clubs, in schools and doing alone. 5.Males were more active in "social" and "fitness" activities; females were more active in "amusing" and "learning" ones. The results of statistical analysis were as follows, 1.Leisure activities participation, satisfaction and life adjustment were closely related. 2.Leisure activities participation, satisfaction and life adjustment were interacted. 3.Leisure activities participation could improve life satisfaction of retired teachers. The more activities they took, the better satisfaction they had, and the better adjustment they did.
