We apply the PWM technology of the AT89S51 micro-controller to control the motor speed in the fan. In addition, taking advantage of the fact that Bluetooth communication devices are available in most of the mobile phones, we design mobile applications to achieve the goals of intelligent homes, home automation, and smart control. The Bluetooth-controlled platform developed in this study not only can be used to control motor speed, but also can be used to integrate functions through APP of smartphone. The technology in this research can be applied to general-equipment monitoring, communication control, and issues related to smart appliances, and thus effectively control devices and enhance convenience in our daily life.
