碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 國際企業系碩士在職專班 === 102 === Since the world has experienced a financial crisis in 2008 , the European debt crisis and the U.S. fiscal deficit crisis, economic slowdown, the world want to bring economy as soon as possible back on track, while Taiwan is an island country, most believe that the best activity to economic art export trade and attract foreign capital inflows to Taiwan. Therefore, this study used Granger causality test and impulse response function analysis to test the causal relationship between foreign direct investment in 1963 to 2013, foreign direct investment, exports and economic growth. The results of this study show that increase of exports will drive economic growth and increase the willingness of foreign investment; Besides, the economic growth and export growth will also drive the inflows of foreign capital, and there are relations of mutual influence between foreign direct investment and economic growth. When economic growth is impacted by foreign direct investment, in the short term it shows a positive reactive but negative in the long term. Foreign direct investment is impacted by economic growth, it shows positive reactive in the short term and flatten in the long term . Foreign direct investment is impacted by economic growth and when exports impact the economic growth, foreign direct investment, and foreign direct investment in the short time all of them showed significant positive reaction, then the long-term effects are gradually smaller.
