The diversified ways to preserve knowledge have been developed and not only decrease the damage of paper file storage but also respond to the government policies of energy conservation and carbon reduction. The military logistics maintenance unit built “Knowledge Base Web” page in 2002. The study is intended as an investigation of the actual effect of the maintenance performance. The purpose of this study is to explore knowledge base has an effect on maintenance performance from knowledge classification, knowledge storage, knowledge sharing and knowledge application. Base on a survey of a naval maintenance unit, this study explores the effect of knowledge base on maintenance performance by using questionnaire and statistical methods. The subjects are volunteer officers, sergeants, soldiers, employees and technical sergeants in the Navy logistics maintenance unit. A set of questionnaires is used to collect data. To validate research question and hypothesis, data are analyzed by using SPSS statistical software, including ANOVA analysis, reliability and validity analysis, regression and multiple regression analysis. The finding shows that the “Knowledge Base Web” page has a significant effect on maintenance performance. Learning willingness and individual performance of maintenance performance reports that good knowledge classification contributes to knowledge sharing and knowledge application. Similarly, it benefits learning willingness and individual performance. In organizational performance of maintenance performance, it reveals the better use of knowledge application can improve organizational performance. This research model and results can be provided to the military and the folk organization for reference.
