Therefore, the exposed area on the riverbed obviously increases in the downstream. Fugitive dust emission from the river bed is often violated in Pingtung city area. It is seriously affected the environmental quality of human life. For effectively preventing the fugitive dust pollution, this study is focused on the relation of AQM station data (such as wind speed, time, concentration of suspended particles) and the occurring period of dust emission. Also, satellite image was used by the identification and interpretation of most likely path of dust emission. Then, the potential area for fugitive dust control was screened out. The results displayed that both direction of the most frequent wind and fugitive dust emission are the same. Three types of wind direction are classified by 270∘to 315∘, 337.5∘to 45∘, and 157.5∘to 225∘. Moreover, most of fugitive dust emission generated at low wind speeds. It inferred that the emission source is not far from Pingtung city area. Finally, the affecting factors of fugitive dust emission overlapped on the satellite image. The information can be provided for screening that the exposed riverbed from Wandan bridge to Kaoping bridge is the most potential area for fugitive dust control.
