Examples include digital publication, digital learning, online digital libraries, and electronic commerce. The server architecture of Internet services, particularly the more popular services that experience extremely high load, must overcome a number of challenging issues in order to maintain fast response time, scalability, and constant reliability. Obviously, ordinary enterprises have difficulties to build a system to handle these challenges. In the means time, Cloud computing has arisen as a promising solution and an opportunity for delivering information services. However, little attention has been paid to how the legacy software systems can be deployed as high performance and scalable cloud services. In this paper, we design and implement system architecture to address these issues by combining some important cloud technologies such as virtualization technology, distributed file system and non-relational database. With the support of this system, a service can be efficiently launched on demand and be able to scale-out via dynamically allocating the necessary resources. We also provide the results of performance evaluation from the implementation based on real workload by using some representative benchmark tools.
