Nursing staff generally fail to achieve their career goal due to conflicts among career choice, job requirement, home-caring burden and self-achievement. Consequently, they have been forced to resign or transfer to other field.Factors impacting nursing staff’s career satisfaction, such as personal characteristics, job characteristics, or working environment etc., may result in the difference of nursing staff’s enthusiasm towards work or their acceptance of job challenges, further to have an effect on career satisfaction. Hence, this research aims to explore and discuss the relationship between core self-evaluations, job characteristics, and job engagement, and career satisfaction. Meanwhile, this study also examines the mediating effect of job engagement on the relationship between core self-evaluations, job characteristics, and career satisfaction. In addition, this study provides relevant practical advices based on the research result. This research target on nursing staff in medical service industry. A questionnaire has been conducted as survey instrument. A total of 427 questionnaires has been distributed and 369 questionnaires returned. The valid return rate is 86.4%. Through regression analysis, it indicates the following empirical research results: 1. Core self-evaluations has a significant positive impact on career satisfaction. 2. Job characteristics has a significant positive impact on job engagement. 3. Core self-evaluations has a significant positive impact on job engagement. 4. Job characteristics has a significant positive impact on career satisfaction. 5. Job engagement has a significant positive impact on career satisfaction. 6. Job engagement possess partial mediating effect on the relationship between core self-evaluations and career satisfaction. 7. Job engagement possess partial mediating effect on the relationship between job characteristics and career satisfaction.
