碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 102 === Abstract The purpose of this study aimed to investigate the current challenges and opportunities from the SWOT standpoint of wealth management practitioners through 422 questionnaires under the current financial environment in Taiwan. The empirical results show that the strength divided into two parts - "company support for wealth management" and "personal wealth management professional functions". The weakness is "customer dissatisfaction". External environment -opportunity for wealth management business contain four parts - " memorandum of cooperation of cross-strait currency settlement", "reaction of middle-class", "financial education rooted", "European debt crisis". Threats divided into two parts: "changes in the international situation" and "market competition and wealth management processes do not understand". In regression analysis, all components of opportunity -"memorandum of cooperation of cross-strait currency settlement", "reaction of middle-class", "financial education rooted", "European debt crisis" have significant positive effect on strength-"company support for wealth management" and "personal wealth management professional functions". But all components of opportunity do not have explanatory power on weakness-"customer dissatisfaction". Threat-"market competition and wealth management processes do not know" has significant positive effect on "company support for wealth management" and "personal wealth management professional functions". Threat-"changes in the international situation" has insignificant effect on "company support for wealth management" and "personal wealth management professional functions". Both components of threat –"changes in the international situation" and "market competition and wealth management processes do not understand" have significant positive effect on weakness--"customer dissatisfaction".
