Effects of Zi-Fen Cream on Atopic dermatitis in Balb/c mice model

Thirty Female BALB/c mice were grouping, sensitized and challenged with 1-Chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene. On days 14–29 after sensitization, each group of mice were treated with cutaneous (skin smear) administration of none(CT), blank cream(T0), 0.1% mometasone furoate oint.(T1), Zi-Fen cream(T2), respectively. After sacrifice, obtain the specimen of ear, dorsal skin and serum, for further evaluation of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. After the 6th challenge, measuring the thickness differences of right ear in T2 group were significantly decreased as compared with that in the control group. Changes such as ear swelling thickening and cellular infiltration in dermis were observed. And these features seemed to be more significantly in CT group and T0 group as compared with T1 group and T2 group. Serum immunoassay part, in addition to TNF-α was no significant difference between groups. In IL-4 level, T1 and T2 group were significantly better, P<0.001, P<0.005, respectively. The outcomes between Zi-Fen Cream on Balb/c mice model of atopic dermatitis and 0.1 % Mometasone furoate ointment treatment have similar therapeutic effects.
