This study adopted Altera DE2-115 FPGA board as a platform to implement a prototype system with the new algorithm of RAID for tolerating triple disk failures. We build a program with GUI to prove the algorithm in PC platform. Also, this platform can help the developer develop the basic hardware component/module via a HW and SW co-design concept. We establish NIOS II system with SOPC builder to coordinate hardware components and then develop NIOS programs to control them.
