Many new type appliances have been developed for daily life. It is an important issue to compose of people, data and appliances in one scenario. However, it is insufficient IPv4 address for Internet of Thing (IoT). IPv4 and IPv6 have hybrid run over Internet. Hence, this study designs and implements a Service-oriented IPv4 and IPv6 Dual-Stack Lite Gateway, which is called SIDLE. SIDLE is based on the open service platform, including ARM embedded system and Linux operating system. The main technique is IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack techniques. It can provide IP-based appliances to work on Local Area Networks (LANs). Evaluation results of SIDLE demonstrate that it efficiently integrates Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol (POP), Domain Name System (DNS), Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM), Remote Packet Capture System (RPCAP), Web Service, and efficiently compact with IPv4 and IPv6 networks.Finally, SIDLE can be an inference model for researchers when developing service-oriented IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack lite gateway in the future.
