A cross-sectional, descriptive correlational research design was used to test the study hypotheses. Study data were collected from a convenience sample of 67 college teachers at a large private university in the South part of Taiwan.Study participants completed questionnaires containing: the Generalized Self-efficacy Scale, the Multidimensional Scale of Social Support, the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile, and the Demographic Data Questionnaire and cortisol concentration of the hair will then be measured by Enzyme-linked ImmunosorbentAssay(ELISA). The results from the study revealed as follows: 1. Social support of college teachers (family and peer) revealed a statistically significant positively relationship with health promotion lifestyle (r = 0.286, p < 0.05;r = 0.252 , p < 0.05), as well as their self-efficacy and health promotion lifestyle (r = 0.269 , p < 0.05). 2. The cortisol levels were significant negatively correlated to stress management of health promotion lifestyle of the college teachers (r = -0.249, p < 0.05). 3. Study findings suggest that the test of cortisol levels in hair by ELISA present a high reproducibility, and maybe is another analysis method for pressure biomarker.
