Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 社會福利與社會工作學系碩士在職專班 === 102 === The main purpose of this study is to explore the interaction process between adults and their siblings with intellectual disabilities. The study used qualitative research and collected data from in-depth interview and other documents with six adult. The siblings relationships was discussed, and the factors which influence them were explored as well. Results are summarized as follows: 1. The relationships between these six siblings were similar to those ordinary siblings, including positive and negative behaviors, but more substitute-parenting behavior shown on the these six cases. The person with intellectual disabilities also can provide emotional support to their siblings. 2. The influence of having a sibling with intellectual disabilities was not totally negative , if the case can receive correct guidance from parents or teachers and get positive self-transformation during their growth process, the situation of siblings and individual will get better. 3. No matter how close the siblings were,they would like to take over the care responsibilities of sibling with intellectual disabilities as their own work in the future, meanwhile, they hope to get a better resources and supports from the government and society. Above all, the researcher shared Personal Reflections and offer some suggestions for further study and related workers .
