| Summary: | 碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用外語學系碩士班 === 102 === This research discusses the structure and use of Martian Language, a type of Chinese-language Leet, and explores its popularity among the younger generations of internet users. 55 participants were recruited through Bulletin Board System (BBS). The data used in this research is from an anonymous questionnaire which solicited personal information and feedback. This data was analyzed from the perspective of sociolinguistic theory, e.g. by comparing different examples of Martian Languages on the internet. Some portions have been simplified for the sake of readers unfamiliar with this code. Most of the participants reported negative attitudes before answering this questionnaire. However, after analyzing it, and exploring the subject more deeply, these negative perceptions diminished.
