Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔英科技大學 === 護理系碩士班 === 102 === When family died of cancer, the bereaved families are facing grief as the result of loss. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of bereaved adults whose family died from cancer in Taiwan. Using qualitative content analysis, purposive and snowball sampling was used to recruit potential participants. A total of 12 bereaved adults whose first-degree relatives died from cancer were interviewed one-to-one guided by the semi-structured interview questionnaires. The length of time since the bereaved adults lost their family to cancer was 1 to 10 years with a mean of 4.2 years (SD=3.1). The bonds between the bereaved adults and their deceased families would not come to an end despite of death. This continuing relationship will change in forms and nature. Under this core theme, there were four themes including (1) existing relationship, (2) relationship not over, (3) relationship maintained, and (4) relationship in next life. The results reflect new cultural insights into these changed relationships of the bereaved adults whose family died from cancer in Taiwan.
