In order to achieve the study purpose, the survey method was applied. The study subjects were the middle and high graders in Luodong Elementary School in Yilan. A total of 338 valid questionnaires were collected, and they were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, and the regression analysis in multiple steps. According to the result of the data analysis, conclusions of this study were drawn as follows: 1.The middle and high graders in elementary school identify with a wide variety of cartoon characters. Plankton was the most popular character, and Doraemon, Ryotsu Kankichi, and Monkey D. Luffy followed in the rank. Character personalities and skills and equipment influenced the students’ choices the most. Those students tended to like superpower heroes and comedies. 2.The subjects were not particularly obsessed with cartoon characters. Most of them chose “pay attention and accept” in the questionnaire. 3.The peer relations between the middle and high graders were fine. “Fondness/attraction” and “friendship” outscored the other choices. 4.The higher the level of the students’ identification with cartoon characters, the better their peer relations. 5.The middle graders who watched cartoons frequently exhibited a higher level of identification with cartoon characters. 6.The female high graders who were accompanied when watching cartoons, enjoyed better peer relations. 7.The choice “pay attention and accept” in the subjects’ identification with cartoon characters served as a effective predictor in their peer relations in all aspects. 段昌國 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 103 zh-TW
