The magnetic module integrated on the system is capable of conducting both incubation and washing steps automatically through disk rotation. The movement of the magnetic beads during incubation was investigated. It was found that the optimal rotational speed is independent of the size and concentration of the magnetic beads but related to the strength of the magnetic fields and the number of the magnet arrays. In addition, the factors which influenced washing process were also investigated. It was found that the washing efficiency is governed by both the entrance and exit flowrates of the reaction chamber.
