Microcontroller programming is an important issue for students of vocational senior high school on electronics and electrics field. MCS51 is commonly adapted for the beginning course of vocational senior high school in Taiwan. Learning of MCS51 programming is rather stiff for most of high school students nowadays. Interactive learning materials are important to be able to get students' attention during the learning process. Arduino, which was designed by David Cuartielles in 2005, is an open hardware and software architecture. Arduino was originally designed for the purpose of quick and easy learning without the basics on electronics and sensors. With easy-to-use development IDE and rich open source libraries, programming with Arduino is easy for beginners on interactive design. However, there are many variations of Arduino hardware such as Uno, Micro, Mini, LilyPad, Mega 2560, and so on. Choosing the Arduino hardware and sensors is tedious for beginners and time-consuming. The objective of this thesis is to develop an easy to learn platform for beginners on interactive design. In addition to basic Arduino functions, the developed platform also provides direct-current-driving motors and Bluetooth module.
