Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 102 === The purpose of this thesis is to understand the characteristic and background of Ju Ceramic Ware through various literatures and related information, plan for the direction of the Ju ware test fired, and then fire it with current technology, equipments and materials. Test directions: (i) The literatures are been collected related to the Ju porcelain composition analysis, then converted into current used materials. (ii) According to the basic definition of the principle of matte glaze, design the Ju glaze formula. (iii) Use contemporary potters’ Ju glaze formula, and triangular coordinate test method to find the best combination of this glaze. Employ Sager’s glaze test method on above resulting glaze, test the results with different acid ratio on the glaze, and abtain the range of acid ratio and limitation. Summarize the alkaline components of the glaze, understand the influence of alkaline ratio on the size of crackles and porcelain color. Investigate the main cause that infer the color of Ju ware and its feeling of value and their relationship. Finally, fire the pottery with above testing glaze , and give some further research directions, conclusion, and recommendation.
Befoe, Ju ware firing range is pretty small, not easy to burn. Now with more modern chemical knowledge, understanding of glaze material, and the use of Sager’s testing methods, you can find a better range of Ju glaze, and is more easy to burn out with the same texture as before, or even better. Skillful fired ceramic technology, understanding the characteristic of the glaze, skilled glazing method; efforts in the performance of the work of thinking, self-style realization, not confined to the traditional Ju ware are all necessary conditions to create good Ju works.
