碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 102 === Nowadays, travel abroad is a common phenomenon. Tourists may encounter with travel risks because of differences in national envi-ronmental and human customs. A tour leader plays and important role in group package tour, which is the prime travel decision in Taiwan. Therefore, the professional competences of a tour leader need to be paid attention when considering the quality and safety of a group package tour. In other words, a tour leader should have communicate the tour risks with the tourists. Hence, the aim of this study is to ex-amine the relationship between professional competences and effec-tiveness of risk communication. Using the purposive sampling, the sample was made up of 335 tourists. The result indicates that professional competences are posi-tively related to the effectiveness risk communication. Managerial implications and future studies are also provided.
