Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 102 === The main purpose of this study is to investigate the current conditions and statistical differences among perceived parental expectation, family support and well-being of adolescents from different backgrounds. In addition, the correlation among parental expectation, family support and well-being; whether parental expectations and family supports can be predictors of well-being are also discussed. Furthermore, whether there are significant differences in well-being of adolescent among different levels of parental expectation and family support. Three Questionnaires were employed in this study. The subjects were 756 students from five junior high schools and four senior high schools in Taichung City and Changhua County. They were selected by convenience sampling method. The instruments included Parental Expectation Scale, Family Support Scale and Well-Being Scale. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s Correlation, and stepwise multiple regression were used to analyze the collected data. The findings of this study are summarized as the following: (a)Parental expectations for academic and achievement of boys are significantly higher than girls. But family support and well-being of girls are significantly higher than boys. (b)Parental expectation and family support are positively correlated with well-being. (c)Parental expectation and family support can effectively predict well-being. (d)There are significantly differences in well-being among six groups of varying degrees of parental expectation and family support. Finally, according to the findings, the study provides several suggestions for parents, teachers, educators and future studies.
