Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 102 === The boss is generally made use of locking the up and bottom covers and the PCB by the self-tapping screws, or fixing the other parts for the plastic housing of the 3C products. Due to the design of the Boss is normally based on the experience, the incorrect design may happen to cause the insufficient locking strength which will accordingly increase the cost for maintenance. Hence the experiment has been proposed and carried out in order to obtain the optimized design value for the boss. 2 specifications (TP2.6 mm and TP3.0 mm) of the self-tapping screws which are generally in use of locking the cover have been applied in the experiment. The bosses with 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4 mm inner diameters for the TP 2.6mm self-tapping screw and 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8 mm inner diameters for the TP 3.0mm self-tapping screw have been set on the samples. A recommended diameter is applied for the outer diameter. The drawing force test, repetitive locking test and maximum torque test are then carried out by using the 3 plastic materials which are ABS, PC and PC/ABS. As the results of the experiment, the optimized design parameter for the inner diameter is obtained which can be referenced by the engineer for the design of the plastic cover.
