The relationship between their self-concept and learning adjustment was also investigated. This study used questionnaire survey method. The questionnaires were administered to 575 junior high school students by stratified random sampling from 12 junior high schools in Taoyuan county . The valid return rate was 86.1%. The statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, canonical correlation, multiple stepwise regression analysis, multiple hierarchical regression analysis and path analysis. The results of the study were listed as the following: 1. The current state of the junior high school students' self-concept were above average. 2. The current state of the junior high school students' learning adjustment were above average. 3. There were significant differences in students' self-concept in variable such as family structure and socio-economic status. 4. There were significant differences in students' learning adjustment in variable such as grader, family structure and socio-economic status. 5. There was significant positive correlation between self-concept and learning adjustment. 6. Students' self-concept can significantly predict students' learning adjustment. 7.
