Previous studies indicate that religiosity is a multidimensional construct, but the relationship between religiosity and resilience seems unclear. In the past religiosity was assessed simplistically (e.g. as attendance at religion services), and it has become increasingly clear to researchers that simple global conceptualization of religiosity does not adequately understand the complex nature of religions in people’s lives and in the time of adjustment. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the multidimensional structure of religiosity and resilience with meaning in life as mediator. The sample consisted of 217 participants selected by proportional stratified quota sampling method. Participants completed four instruments: Intrinsic-Extrinsic Religious Orientation Scales, Quest Scale, the Life Attitude Profile, and Resilience Scale. Result indicated that intrinsic and extrinsic religious orientation was positively associated with resilience respectively. The meaning in life is a mediator between intrinsic religious orientation and resilience. Wai- Cheong Tam 譚偉象 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 83 zh-TW |
