It acquires images with a lateral 360˚optical mechanism, while a traditional endoscope acquires only front images. The optical mechanism design can clear acquire images all around the miner surface of a pipe or cylinder and improve the inspection rate of pipe surface defects. The new endoscope consists of a conical mirror, an optical window, a CMOS module, LED devices, and a scope bush. The bush accommodates the CMOS module and the LED devices. The LED devices are mounted on the front slope wall of the bush and provide lighting. Light travels freely through the optical window fixed on the front of the bush. The conical mirror which is located in the front of the optical window reflects incoming light. The CMOS module which includes lens and processors acquires the image on the conical mirror. The acquired image is then passed to a computer for image processing such as segmentation, correction, and so on.
