The interactive whiteboard has been introduced in Taiwan for many
years. There has been a considerable improvement in equipping interactive
whiteboard in primary and secondary school classrooms. The government
has also invested plenty of manpower and material resources to promote
the interactive whiteboard into education. Therefore, research materials
concerning the interactive whiteboard’s impact on teachers' teaching
effectiveness or the impact on student’s learning outcomes are plenty. But
most of these materials are limited to a single subject or a topic. Based on
the grey entropy analysis, this research produced a sequence to sort out
which subjects’ learning outcomes can be effectively enhanced by
interactive whiteboard. In this study, we first analyze grades of second
semester’s three monthly exams of all subjects of the fifth grade students in
an elementary school in Changhua area with the grey entropy analysis.
Later, we integrate interactive whiteboard into each subjects; and with grey
entropy method, we re-analyze the first semesters’ grades of all subjects of
the sixth grade, and sort the results out into a sequence for comparison. The
results show the subjects that interactive whiteboard can best play as a
remedial teaching function are math and Mandarin; subjects whose learning
outcomes can be enhanced in short-term are Mandarin, mathematics, social
science, natural science; subject whose learning outcomes can be enhanced
in long-term is English.
