Summary: | 碩士 === 正修科技大學 === 營建工程研究所 === 102 === Rivers in or around the urban areas are as precious as desert oasis; however, without any comprehensive scheme, they may dry up, like flowers withering day by day. Agongdian River flows through Kangshang Area; with considerations of flood prevention on both sides of rivercourse, Water Resource Agency has used multiple sections of concrete revetment mode over the past years. However, with absence of long-term and overall plan and under a standard construction method, the rivercourse, river terraces, roadside trees and roads in this area have been sharply divided, and unrelated between one another, just like another kind of unused space in the city. Especially those current river terraces are left unused, overgrown with weeds, and filthy; even homeless people or stray dogs and cats stay there constantly, resulting in the fact that the rivers supposed to be pretty become poorly maintained scenes in the downtown. In view of this, this study aimed to explore landscape transformation of current artificial river terrace, breaking down barriers to make connections horizontally to shap a corridor and to make integration vertically to contract a huge greenbelt
slope, creating a high-quality waterfront space.
The present case study focused on the river terrace landscaping at Agongdian river basin. The main landscape elements of river terraces are integrated into the overall architecture by observing the behavior of public recreation, investigating the type of urban riparian, caring waterfront ecological environment, and discussing on relevant landscape aesthetics, along with the empirical observation, analysis and discussion of the landscape elements of overall dynamic lines, paving, planting, lighting and street furniture.
The landscape functions of aesthetics, ecology and recreation landscape are taken into account and the landscape transformation employs the most appropriate scale to create a beautiful, hydrophilic, safe landscape space of river terrace in the hope to create the attraction of soft environment to narrow down the distance between people and water, making the public get closer to Agongdian River, recall their memory and concern of it, and collaborate to
create green Gangshang with bio-diversity.
The research method used in the present study was sketches and graphics software. The improved results were displayed through comparison between pictures made before improvements and those made after improvements, and principles of design were developed as a reference for down-to-earth landscape
transformation in the future.
