Among the HDMs, pathogenic mechanisms of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus-induced allergies arewidely investigated and allergens derived from the mite are mostly identified and characterized. Previous studies have indicated that severe respiratory hypersensitiveness maycontribute to further pulmonary fibrosis.Rosmarinic acid (RA) is a phenolic compound with highly antioxidant activity andhas anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and otherbiological activities. However, effects of RA on fibrosis remain unclear. Thus, the present study wasaimed to invesitigate effects of Der p 2, a non-proteolytic major allergen derived from Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus,on profibrotic gene expression in human lung fibroblast MRC-5.
