Description
Summary:碩士 === 中山醫學大學 === 生化暨生物科技研究所 === 102 === House dust mites (HDMs) are the major cause leading to airway hypersensitivity in Taiwan and developed countries. In Taiwan, ther are three main species of HDMs leading to allergic disoders, includingDermatophagoides pteronyssinus, Dermatophagoides farina, and Blomia tropicalis. Among the HDMs, pathogenic mechanisms of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus-induced allergies arewidely investigated and allergens derived from the mite are mostly identified and characterized. Previous studies have indicated that severe respiratory hypersensitiveness maycontribute to further pulmonary fibrosis.Rosmarinic acid (RA) is a phenolic compound with highly antioxidant activity andhas anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and otherbiological activities. However, effects of RA on fibrosis remain unclear. Thus, the present study wasaimed to invesitigate effects of Der p 2, a non-proteolytic major allergen derived from Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus,on profibrotic gene expression in human lung fibroblast MRC-5. Our results revealed that mRNAexpression of three profibrotic genes, alpha-smooth muscle actin (
