| Summary: | 碩士 === 嘉南藥理大學 === 儒學研究所 === 102 === Among the Han Dynasty stones exhumed in Mainland China, the carving "Confucius Visits Laozi" is one of the most classical. The expressive forms of its figures and its layout methods are highly associated with the artistic thoughts of its contemporary folk carvers. The way the carvers selected, combined, and arranged their materials reflected the prevalent social value in its time, Confucianism. Based on the findings and historical records of the Han Dynasty stone "Confucius Visits Laozi", this thesis aims to research the Confucian spirit under the influence of the social background and artistic thoughts of the Han Dynasty through analyzing and comparing the representative forms of its figures, the layout methods of its figures, and the meaning of the other images in the tableau.
